Volume for sea freight, LCL, FCL planning and warehouse space is measured in cubic meters (m³).
Formula
How CBM is calculated
CBM stands for Cubic Meter. It is used to measure the volume of cargo for shipping and logistics — including sea freight CBM, LCL CBM calculator work, FCL planning and China to Pakistan shipping estimates.
- CBM = Length × Width × Height after converting each side to meters.
- When dimensions are in millimeters: CBM = L × W × H ÷ 1,000,000,000
- When dimensions are in centimeters: CBM = L × W × H ÷ 1,000,000
- For multiple cartons: Total CBM = CBM per carton × number of cartons
